Hotel & Yacht Tour In Galapagos Islands
It is my fourth and last day in the Galapagos Islands or Archipelago of Columbus, I am returning to the Baltra Island Airport, in the transportation that GRAY LINE TOURS ECUADOR in Galapagos has provided me, like all the other services of which I enjoyed and which I had the opportunity to know the " Enchanted Islands", that is another one of the names with it is also known the Galapagos Islands. I reflect to my self and I feel so sad to leave these charming islands that constitutes a true land paradise, which always it will leave a unique experience that each tourist will take with himself to his respective country, I would want to take a tour with a larger number of days.
It seems that it was yesterday when I arrived at the Galapagos Islands and I remember that was an adventure from the moment in which I arrived at the Island of Baltra, where is located the airport of the Santa Cruz Island, it is a small airport and furthermore, with an ecological structure, it receives here every day thousands of tourists of all parts of the world.
Once I left the Baltra Airport, I continued my way towards the Itabaca Channel in a bus provided by the Airline (because this type of transport is available for the tourists, as much in the air transportation company of TAME like in AEROGAL, which they are the two only airlines that operate the Galapagos Islands as destiny at the moment, with up to 2 daily frequencies each one), the first look of the color of the water of this channel it was magic, it is a beautiful bluish green color and with the reflection of the sun it offers a warm welcome, like emblematic part of the adventure that is going to begin.
The trip until Puerto Ayora, that is the town of the Santa Cruz Island and the main tourist point of the Galapagos Islands, this road will show us different shapes, climate diversity and atmospheres, since a full of sun warm, until a misted humid one. You cross the road at a moderate speed as far as possible trying to not disturb the environment areas and trying to keep the surrounding habitat as far as possible intact.
Once in Puerto Ayora, you can have access to everything that a great city can offer, bars, discotheques, restaurants, hotels of different categories, handicrafts stores, travel agencies, in another words, a small world separated from the Ecuadorian continent. Its climate is quite pleasant between warm and tempering, depends on the season, but people enjoy it very much, there is a great tourist level of the zone, most of the population lives of it, there you can practice diving, visits to islands using boats of all kind and most of them with availability between 16 to 20 people.
Once the guide of GRAY LINE TOURS explained to me all the basic slight knowledge of the Galapagos Islands, transferred to me until my selected hotel in Puerto Ayora in Santa Cruz Island of Galapagos Islands - Ecuador, and I finished with my check in, he informed to me the hour in which he would pick me up for my first excursion in the Galapagos Islands, that was the Bay Tour.
My Bay Tour began in the afternoon of my first day in the Galapagos Islands, when I left from the wharf of Puerto Ayora to visit in panoramic form the "The Loberia" Island called like this due to the great colony of Sea Wolves that were located there. In this place I could make snorkeling and play with those friendly sea wolves, observe a lot of fishes of all the colors and Sea Turtles, when we continued with the route we went to the "Love Channel" where I not only could observe the Whitetip Reef Sharks, but also I swam and I did snorkel with them, later we followed with our navigation, until the wharf of Punta Estrada to make a long walk, observing Sea Iguanas in the called "Playa de Perros", and then we return to Puerto Ayora.
In my second day I wake up very early, to be able to know, one of the most beautiful Islands of the Galapagos Islands, according to a criterion of many of my friends who had recommended me this trip, the Tour to the Bartolome Island. We departure from my hotel very early in the morning, to be transferred to the wharf of the Itabaca Channel to aboard the Yacht that would take us until the Bartolome Island, which is famous for its Pinnacle (natural obelisk formed of volcanic material), that rises from the edge of the ocean, and for its best representative of this island: The Galapagos Penguins -they are the only species of penguins found to the north of the Equatorial Line- we walked carefully throughout volcanic rock and we saw to several Sea Lions that sleep in the rocky platforms, ready to slip inside the water and play with the snorkeling adventurers. An increasing, perfectly pink-and-white sandy beach extends to the east of the pinnacle, in which, the sea turtles usually nest and in some occasions they can be found in the water near the border, or resting in the sand recovering after an arduous task when digging his nests.
Here the submerged walls of a small volcanic crater give the impression of a swimming pool. This dry disembarkation is the entrance to a way of 2000 Fits, of a complete way with stairs and paths that lead to the summit of Bartolome. The route is not difficult and it show a volcanology museum; a site without exploring after its last eruption, where the cones stand in several stages of erosion. Arriving at the summit will be compensated with a spectacular view of the Santiago Island and the James Bay to the west, and far bellow, the pinnacle rock and our beach, where the crystalline blue waters of the bay cradle our yacht. Begun afternoon and after giving the reason to my friends, we began our navigation of approximately 4 hours until the Santa Cruz Island.
In my third day of visit in the Galapagos Islands, I could take the excursion to North Seymour Island, for which also we left by the Itabaca Channel, but not as early as yesterday, I aboard another yacht that this time would take us to North Seymour Island, this island was lifted from the oceanic floor by a seismic event. Several cliffs with few feet of height form the beach, where Swallow-tailed gulls rest in the edge. A small silver and gray forest with Palo Santo trees is near of our landing, usually without leaves, hoping that the rain returns them to bloom. In this island maybe you have to give way to a passing sea lion or sea iguanas; blue-footed booby nests sits beside the trail where the pairs make their courtship dance. Further along, the rocky shore displays white sand, and a great flock of pelicans will be ready to be photographed. The way turns around to reveal the biggest place in Galapagos

of nests of Beautiful “Frigates of Red Chest".
After the North Seymour Island visit, additionally we went to Las Bachas, that is a white-choral beach, who is the best place for eggs-laying of sea turtles. In the beach, there are sea iguanas and in the lake, flamingos which are commonly seen.
The fauna of all the places that I visited was incredible, in spite of being animals that live in complete freedom, do not fear to the human presence, are completely friendly and they are not surprised when seeing the people next to them, with this I either mean that it is due to disturb into their habitat, because we must to respect all the rules of the Galapagos National Park. Today is my last day in these "Enchanted Islands" that made to fall in love to famous scientist Charles Darwin, who based his Evolution of the Species Theory in the studies that carried out in these Galapagos Islands and in where in commemoration to him they build a place of study for some of the species that live in these Islands, which takes his name; Charles Darwin Station, here we can appreciated mainly the greatest Turtle of the world and due to which the Archipelago takes its name, the Galapagos Turtles, magnificently represented by the Lonely George, who has approximately 135 years old and that unfortunately the day that it dies, will be extinguished more of the 12 species of Galapagos Turtles that exist at the moment (one of them, the 13th specie that existed, was extinguished recently in a volcanic eruption in the Isabela Island). By the way if you have the opportunity take it and visits the Lonely George before there are not more members of that species.
I am sure that after telling you all this magnificent adventure, that already constitutes a magical and unique experience in my life, the trip to the Enchanted Islands, will be your next destination, only take note that you must to take a more days tour to know a little more of them...
