Ecuador Four Worlds In One Country
Visiting Ecuador in South America, was a wonderful experience, mainly because I had the help of GRAY LINE TOURS and I could take the necessary time to admire its Four Worlds, yes, you read well, Ecuador with 98,985 Mi2 of territory, has catalogued like one of the countries with more high biodiversity of the world and its Ecuadorian Tourism Ministry, has subdivided into "Four Worlds" marked clearly, for delight of his visitors: Ecuadorian Coast, Ecuadorian Highlands, Ecuadorian Jungle and the Galapagos Islands.
I had the opportunity to visit great part of those Four Worlds and is why I want to share with you my valuable experience.
The Ecuadorian Coast.- Ecuador co-pretty by the West with the Pacific Ocean, has a large extension of beautiful beaches and almost in their majority apt for the swimmers. Any way, in the zone of the Ecuadorian Coast, not only exist beaches like tourist attraction, also we can found in this zone, the city of Guayaquil - Ecuador, the most important Port. The most populated city and the second most important one of all the Ecuadorian Territory, it´s history marked a very important landmark in the independence of Ecuador. In this city we can find several points of cultural interest like Malecon 2000, the Historical Park, the Crystal Palace, the Peñas Neighborhood, among other tourist points of much importance that in their majority have been municipal regenerations of the last years to attract the presence of us, the tourists, and let me tell you, that they really got it.
In the same way, the Ecuadorian coasts, are rich in cultural treasures since on its lived, among other cultures, the Indigenous Culture of Valdivia, one of most important of the Formative Period of Ecuador, between the years 3,500 B.C. and the 1,800 B.C., There are many museums in which we found vestiges of this culture, mainly of their more important ceramic work, like the "Venus de Valdivia", that is a representation of a woman, her activities and live cycles, since they had a political system of Matriarchy.
The Ecuadorian Highlands.- In the central part of the Ecuadorian Territory and crossed by the Mountain Chain of the Andes, are the Ecuadorian Highlands or Ecuadorian Sierra, where we found the most beautiful mountainous sites, full of culture and traditions, Archaeological Ruins, like the Inca’s Ruins of Ingapirca (Inca’s Ruins, second in importance of the entire world), big lagoons, some of them within old extinct volcano craters, volcanoes, snowed Peaks, majestic mountains, colorful cities and populations, like its Capital and more important city, San Francisco of Quito - Ecuador, that to a 9,300 Ft. above the sea level and near to the Middle of the World (latitude 0º), it is considered by UNESCO like Cultural Heritage of humankind, also knows it like Quito Light of America because it was one of the first cities in South America looking for its freedom of the Spanish conquerors, because of that, in the Historic colonial downtown of Quito, is the Statue of the Independence, that symbolizes this heroic gesture.
Among other cities of importance, we found the third city more important of the Ecuadorian Territory, the city of Cuenca - Ecuador, Also we found the population of Riobamba - Ecuador, well-known by its famous " Devils Nose Train ", Otavalo - Ecuador and its Indigenous Market, etc.
Ecuadorian Jungle.- The Amazonian Jungle of Ecuador is one of the tourists most desired destinies, who enjoy of the daily adventures and to arrive at a world of old cultures, completely far away of the comforts and the noise of a great metropolis, it counts on highways of second order and adapted infrastructure to receive to the tourists of the entire world in the most recondite places of the Amazon Jungle of Ecuador, or Floating Hotels that take us by the rivers of Ecuador which soon they will become on the Amazonas River, because they are its affluents. In the Amazon Jungle you will be able to admire many populations, that they try to maintain their traditional customs of old times, although with an occidental influence, this is something very difficult to obtain, in the same way we also can see many animal species, like jaguars, caimans, boas, anacondas, american tapirs, and thousands and thousand more species of animals, who makes the Amazonian Jungle of Ecuador, the paradise of ornithologists, biologists, botanists and all the students of the species of flora and fauna, or simply for all those love the nature.
Galapagos Islands.-
Speaking of the Galapagos Islands, also catalogued by UNESCO like Natural Heritage of humankind and like Biosphere Natural Reserve, is to speak of another completely different world, where the famous investigator Charles Darwin, based his Evolution of the Species Theory and marveled with all what he found in that habitat, located about 600 Miles to the front of the Ecuadorian continental coasts, They are conformed by 13 greater islands, more than 200 small islands and rocks. At these Galapagos Islands, we just can arrive by air from the Ecuadorian continental territory and they only have 2 airports, one in the Baltra Island, in front of the Santa Cruz Island and another one in the San Cristobal Island in the population and also its provincial capital, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
Each one of the islands and their submarine territory, has a flora and a different fauna, which makes a paradise for the lovers of the animals and mainly for the open water divers that even, if they have luck will be able to dive with the greatest Shark of the world, the Whale Shark, although we can also found a lot of hammers sharks, eagle rays, morays, etc, etc.
At least, to speak of Ecuador and its Four Worlds, is to speak of a small country in territory, but immense in cultures, traditions, biodiversity, habitat, human charm, etc, of very easy access and in which a minimum of 15 days is required to be able to know the most basic sites of these four regions and fall in love of this one wonderful Ecuador.
