A finch rides on the back of a galapagos tortoise, which walks at the stately pace of .06 m/s. After 1 minute the finch tires of the tortoise’s slow pace and takes fight in the same direction for another 1.3 minutes at 12 m/s.

What was the average speed of the finch for this 2.3 minute interval?

answer: 6.8 m/s

How to solve?

Can someone tell me about how the Galapagos tortoise population has gone up and down over the years?
Please use numbers and years (they don’t have to be exact)

Why, for instance, does a Galapagos tortoise live 150 years, a mayfly a single day and a human being seldom past the age of 80?

Or why do bristlecone pines reach such an ancient age whereas barnacles and voles do not?

A finch rides on the back of a Galapagos tortoise, which walks at the stately pace of 0.065 m/s. After 2.0 minutes the finch tires of the tortoise’s slow pace, and takes flight in the same direction for another 2.0 minutes at 14 m/s. What was the average speed of the finch for this 4 minute interval?

I just purchased a tortoise frrom the pet store, and I am not too happy. First, the guy told me it was a galapagos tortoise, only to find out that he is a sulcatta. Second, all he has been feeding him is romaine lettuce, because it has more nutrients than reg lettuce. I need to know exactly what to feed him. He is a little, little guy. Not even the size of my palm. Any points or tips and food wise people for tortoise’s please feel free to answer. If you could also let me know where to purchase the things i need, ie. grocery store or pet store, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much in advance.

The Galapagos Islands are the ultimate class room for young kids. Watch then crawl next to Giant Tortoises and learn about Marine Iguanas. www.inca1.com

yes..I DID research, lol & i didnt find what i was lookin 4, so I came to my last resort.
its on : Galapagos Tortoise

1. How long has the species been in existence?

(I think around late 1500, or is it since the 1800? I wasn’t sure, or any real input wud be nice)

2.How has the organism changed or adapted over time?

3.What special adaptations does the organism have for survival?

4.How did the animal get to the Galapagos Islands?

5.From what organism on the continent is the organism on the Galapagos Island most closely related to?

I have some answers to most of the questions, But I guessed on it, so I need second opinions. So any help would be nice.

You see, the Galapagos Islands are about a thousand miles off the coast of South America, and there are no land bridges to these islands.

So how did the Galapagos Tortoise (which is an enormous beast and does not swim) swim the Atlantic, cross South America (including the Andes Mountains) and then swim an additional 1000+ miles from South America to the Galapagos Islands?

And why just the Galapagos Islands?

Surely Creation Science has addressed this question. "Answers in Genesis" must have an answer, right?

So please tell us what it is (and remember, no make-believe answers now, this is real creation science stuff and we don’t make up answers, do we)?

im doing a report about galapagos tortoises and i cant find a reliable source could somebody send me a reliable link to a galapagos tortoise informational website. (please do not send a website that has the paper written)
something a 13-year-old kid could understand

They are giant tortoises, not the little ones you see in pet shops.
I don’t currently have the capacity to care for either one, its just kind of a dream to have them. And I don’t think my state’s wildlife people would know the difference between a Galapagos tortoise and a green plastic recycling bin so I would hate to confuse them.
