Some quick clips of a few of the animals on the Galapagos Islands from my vacation

Hope you enjoy the videos of our trip to the paradise of the Galapagos Islands. Truly the best destination to choose when going to Ecuador. We choose to spend some days on Santa Cruz Island do-it-yourself style and afterwards going on a cruise to visit the beauty of the Southern Islands of the Galapagos: Plaza Sur, Santa Fe, Espanola and San Cristobal. The first days we enjoyed Tortuga Bay and the tourist life of Puerto Ayora. Also we took a bay tour around Puerto Ayora and saw the giant Tortoises! On first class yacht Galapagos Voyager (highly recommended) we first visited the Charles Darwin Research Station to get more insight in their conversation work. After that we saw rich birdlife everywhere: Frigate Birds and Boobies (Blue-Footed and Nazca). Sea Lions greeting us everywhere and on the first islands plenty of Marine and Land Iguanas! Santa Fe and Espanola Islands also have a rich marine life: Reef Sharks, Spotted Eagle Rays and Sea Turtles everywhere.

This sea lion pup was entertaining itself pretty well until my group passed by. Then, he proceeded to follow the group. He started following the group for a brief period of time. This trip to Ecuador was offered by the University of Wyoming and was a week study down in the Galapagos Islands. This video was taken on January 2nd, 2009 on the Island of Espanola (Hood)at Gardner Bay in the Galapagos Islands.

The Galapagos Islands are known worldwide for their sea lion colonies. In the Galapagos, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Ecuador, these beautiful animals are tame and very approachable. The photographer can get very close to them, and appreciate their many unique (and other funny!) facial expressions. In this collection, I feature sea lions welcoming some visitors on a park bench, while others play with their mates. I also caught one taking a nap. These images, as well as hundreds of other photos, are available as Fine Art Greeting Cards on my website. Each greeting card is handmade from original photos that I took all over the world, and is printed on 100% recycled paper. www.CardsBySergio.com Use a beautiful and unique greeting card to write your thoughts to a special person in your life. Or buy a bundle of cards as an elegant, affordable gift for someone you care for.

The Galapagos Islands are among the most beautiful and pristine places remaining on earth. Stark, rugged, and inhabited by some of the most bizarre creatures you will ever see, these young, volcanic islands offer a rare insight into what our planet was like before man conquered and cultivated large areas of its surface. While visiting the Galapagos, Charles Darwin noticed unusual variations in the animal species from one island to another. It appeared that the various animals inhabiting the Galapagos were related, but on each island the animals were uniquely adapted for survival in their particular environment. Darwin’s observations during his it brief initial visit to the Galapagos were ultimately destined to form the basis of his revolutionary theory of evolution. Ironically, the controversy surrounding Darwin’s theories continued to this day.
