Our trip begins in Quito with our first destination visiting the enchanted Galápagos Islands. We begin our Galapagos adventure at the Baltra Airport located on the island of Santa Cruz. From here our visits include two different islands which will take us 5 days/4 nights, arriving in Quito on the fifth day.

Upon our return to Quito, we relax during the evening and prepare ourselves for the next adventure of this trip where we will take a 35 minute flight to the Ecuadorian Amazonian town of Francisco de Orellana or as it is more commonly known, Coca. Coca is more than 2,500m below Quito. From the airport we travel a short distance to the mighty Napo River, one of the largest tributaries of the Amazon River. Here, we board our motorized boat which will take us east 2½ hours down the Napo to a lodge belonging to the Kichwa community of San Isla or a ½ further down stream to the lodge of the community of Añangu.

My husband and I are taking a 5 day cruise to the Galapagos. Well, actually, we’re flying into Quito, and then going to some of the islands via yacht. We’re trying to figure out an itinerary and so I need advice on which islands are a must see.

Anyone been there that can advise me on which islands are the best?

Thank you!
Thanks, Mr D, that was incredibly helpful.
Yes, it may indeed be Guayaquil!

so how was it? im really not an outdorsy person but my cousins live in quito and want to take me this summer..and it must be very expensive…so is it just beaches and animals, what kind of things is there to do there? im not really looking forward to this…

I am planning to visit some friends in Ecuador (near Quito) this summer for 10 days. During this time, I would love to visit the Galapagos Islands for 3 or 4 days. Taking both quality and affordability into account, what would be the best way to do this? Should I book a trip in advance through a travel agency, or wait until I get there and go someplace local? Anyone know of any good websites where I can be accomodated?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Looking for as much info and to get a "feel" for the country as much as possible. Quito, then other areas in Ecuador and the Galapagos if you made it out there. Looking to go there this year. Thanks.
