or animals native only to south america? how about all of those animals found only on the galapagos islands?
if god brought them to the arc, why did he need noah?
oh man….look at all the chrisitans trying to add science to their bible.

first of all, it was Pangaea…not Eurasia (Eurasia exists today)….and that was 250 million years ago…not during human time.

second, yes, i have heard of evolution….but microevolution does not turn rats into kangaroos. thats evolution. and thats the side we (science) is on.

darwin thought that the plants and animals of the galapagos islands were similar to those of the nearby coast of south america because

A. their ancestors had migrated from south america to the galapagos islands
B. thy had all been crated by god to match their habitat
C. he found fossils proving that the animals and plants had common ancestors

and please explain why thanks!

They originated from south america and were floated to galapagos. But why are they so strangely large and have such a solid shell?

They originated from south america and were floated to galapagos. But why are they so strangely large and have such a solid shell?

Marsupials to Australia, New World monkeys to South America, Old World monkeys to Africa and Asia, etc.

In particular, why do island habitats such as New Zealand, New Guinea, and the Galapagos have many unique species of some Orders of animals, and none of other Orders. For example, the finches of the Galapagos, which fill the ecological niches held by other types of bird in other places? The evolutionary answer is that a couple of finches made it to the Galapagos and then evolved into many different species of finch, but what’s the Biblical answer?
True, finches can fly, but the same problem applies to the various species of giant Galapagos land tortoise, which can neither fly nor swim.
If it’s simply migration, why aren’t species of animals distributed more uniformly? Why should ALL species of kangaroo go to Australia, leaving none near Mt Ararat or anywhere in Asia?

I require that religion be consistent with the world as it is, and I am curious about everything in the world. Are you suggesting this question should not be asked?

This is a 660-pound animal that does not swim, living on islands almost 1000 km off the pacific coast of South America.

How did it get to the ark?
How did it get back from Mt. Ararat?
What did it eat along the way (all plant life was dead and the land was covered in brine)?

I did most of the work. but i still need help.

Charles Darwin proposed that evolution by natural selection was the basis for the differences that he saw in similar organisms as he traveled and collected specimens in South America and on the Galapagos Islands.

i: Convergent evolution and the similarities among species (ecological equivalents) in a particular biome (e.g., tundra taiga, etc.)
ii: Natural selection and behavior such as kinesis, fixed-action-pattern, dominance hierarchy, etc

Hola!

I’m planning a 3 month trip to South America with two friends for the end of this year, November -> February.

We have a list of countries :

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

We’re thinking of starting in Chile, working our way down south then back up north through Argentina and maybe doing an Amazon cruise into Brazil. We’d also like to stop by Easter Island and the Galapagos Islands.

Can I get some more suggestions on the order of countries to visit?

Thanks!
